Up for sale is this rare circa 1800 French Army NCO sword with its original leather scabbard. This dates to the reign of Napoleon Bonaparte. It has a stout single edged straight blade. It was found recently at a yard sale and unfortunately its history has been lost to time. It is new to the market place.
Length & width of cutting edge.........26-1/4" long - 1-1/4" wide - 1/4" thickness at
guard.Overall length of of blade............Gray straight blade with darker spotting and a series of tiny edge nicks. No active rust, cracks, bends or repairs.
Condition of hilt................Ebony grip has 2 hairline age cracks and shows wear. Brass knuckle bow and pommel are in good condition. There are no repairs and hilt is a solid to the blade. is all there. No breaks or repairs - all stitching is tight. Brass throat piece has frog stud. The brass drag has no dents and is marked "14". Scabbard is a nice fit to the blade. Rare to find with original leather scabbard.
