Together with other military measures it was decided that the Royal Netherlands Air Force would be reinforced with a United Air Force Squadron in order to be able to comply with its NATO commitments.On November 1, 1954 the first American military machine landed, for that purpose on Soesterberg Airbase. The32nd Tactical Fighter Squadron "The Wolfhounds"was installed on Soesterberg Airbase.
