Handcrafted Wood Carved Owl within Owl AINU Japan 285:

Japanese Ainu handmade wooden carving using hand tools. This carving is an Owl (Approximately 2.5 all around dimension) with a small hidden owl on the inside of the sphere. Look closely on the picture and you will see it. Using the hand tools, the smaller owl would have been carved from the outside.

Note: Among these animals, the bear, killer whale and owl are considered in many Ainu societies as the highest-ranked animal kamuy, meaning gods or deities. The Owl God in particular, is believed to be the guardian of the village.
