An attractive staple bound promotional booklet in card cover wrappers of 23 unnumbered pages; small quarto (9 1/2 X 5 3/8 inches). Front cover embossed with title in white script over the image of golden oranges, looking ripe for picking, a palm tree, and the outline of rolling hills. Descriptive text with vignettes that emphasize an idyllic leisurely California life style in the lower margin of almost every page; color printing accented with gold, and orange tones.
Illustrated with photomechanical black and white sepia toned images of California scenery and landmarks; and of the amenities on board the train, among them: \"Ladies Writing Desk\" (in a library setting), \"Barbershop,\" \"Equipment & Car Plans.\" There is a map of \"Golden State Route.\" In the corners of almost every page are the bright orange logos of the Railroad.
The centerpiece is a photo of an orange grove against a background of housing, and snow capped peaks. Very good condition overall, except for a small tear in the upper margin of one page of the centerpiece; not affecting the image, the text, or contents; and minor age toning.
