EARLY 20THCentury 1ST EMPIRE CUIRASSIER HELMET Original Early 20thC. Production of French 1stEmpire Cuirassier Helmet. Brass cimier and steel bombe construction. Red plumet, horsehair criniere, fur bandeau, brass and leather rosace & jugulaire, leather visiere with brass jonc, brass and horsehair marmouset, leather liner. No visible stamps or marks. Most likely made by a military tailor during the Third Republic. The French Government will commemorate First and Second Empire cavalry regiments each year on the Official 14th of July military parade. Condition-Very good. Light finish wear and oxidation.
