This is a world class antique French enamel chalice as shown, together with disk paten.The chalice is all silver with French silver hallmarks on the cup and base.It stands 10 1/4" ht, 4" cup diameter, 6 1/2" base diameter.The over cup has beautiful detailed open work all around, with 3 inlaid enamelpanels of Faith, Hope and Charity. The upper and lower stems have engraved Gothicwindow motifs. The node has inlaid enamel + JESVS + all around.The base has 3 angels seated holding enameled shields. The shields depict a cross,a flaming heart and an anchor. The base also has 3 inlaid enamel panels of the Holy Family(Jesus, Mary and Joseph). The chalice is all original, still with the original gold plating.Perfectly preserved for over 100 years. See photos. This is a fantastic piece of craftsmanship, world class quality silversmithing work. The sterling silver disk paten is included but is not the original to the chalice.It is marked Gorham, Sterling and measures 6" diameter.
