One of Napoléon’s least favorite and most ambitious siblings, Caroline married Joachim Murat and became queen of Naples. When the Emperor’s fortunes turned, Caroline and her husband conspired against him to remain in power.

Historical Provenance - Commissioned by Napoléon for the French Senate at Luxembourg Palace.
