Convertible armchair of Marshal Louis Nicolas Davout

- c. 1808

This armchair that converts into a bed belonged to Louis Nicolas Davout, who accompanied Napoléon to Egypt and in the Second Italian Campaign, becoming a Marshal in 1804. He also participated in the Russian campaign, and was Minister of War during the Hundred Days between Napoléon’s escape from Elba and his defeat at Waterloo.
