~This CDV features an early image of Prince Napoleon Jerome, nephew of Napoleon Bonaparte. Note the strong resemblance to his famous uncle! The photograph was taken c. 1850 and showcases Prince Napoleon’s regal appearance. He was born on September 9, 1822 in Trieste, Italy. He died in 1891 in Rome, Italy. He was nicknamed Plon Plon as a child.
The CDV is a must-have for collectors of historical memorabilia and royalty collectibles, particularly those with an interest in French history.
The CDV does not only depict an impressive figure, but also carries significant historical value. It is one of a kind.
The carte is very good condition and measures just shy of 2.5” wide by 4”. The bottom corners have been clipped to fit in an album and sides slightly trimmed. The carte is a copy from an earlier made photo (daguerreotype) and was produced by W.L. Germon’s of Philadelphia, PA. ~
